Prof(Dr.)N. B. Vikhe

Head of Computer Engineering Department

The Department of Computer Engineering was established in 2022 with an initial intake of 30 students. Owing to its consistent academic progress and growing demand, the intake capacity was increased to 60 in 2023 and further expanded to 90 in 2024. Marking significant milestones in its academic journey, the department introduced a Postgraduate (M.E.) program in Data Science in 2024, followed by the launch of a Postgraduate (M.E.) program in Computer Engineering in 2025, each approved with an intake of 12 students.

The department is supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members dedicated to academic excellence, research advancement, and holistic student development. With a strong emphasis on quality education, the faculty continuously integrates theoretical foundations with practical applications to ensure comprehensive learning.

The department ensures that students gain hands-on experience aligned with current technological advancements and industry requirements. Committed to industry-oriented education, the department focuses on core domains such as computer programming, software development, data structures, algorithms, database management systems, artificial intelligence, and diverse engineering applications. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to address real-world challenges and equip students with strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills essential for success in the dynamic IT sector.

To enhance learning beyond the classroom, the department actively promotes co-curricular and technical engagement through CEAS (Computer Engineering Association of Students). This student-led body organizes expert lectures, technical workshops, coding competitions, hackathons, industrial visits, and various skill development initiatives. These activities foster innovation, teamwork, leadership, and professional competence among students.

The department envisions developing versatile, innovative, and industry-ready professionals capable of excelling not only in traditional IT sectors but also in emerging domains such as gaming, animation, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), data science, and advanced computing technologies. By aligning academic practices with evolving industry expectations, the department aims to create a future-ready workforce prepared to thrive in the rapidly transforming digital economy.
