The workshop has well-equipped shops with all necessary tools, machinery, instruments, infrastructure etc. as per AICTE and University of Pune norms like Universal milling machine, Centreless grinder, Surface grinder, Shaping machine, Centre Lathe, Spot welding machine, Welding transformer, Radial drilling machine, Edge bending folding machine, shearing machine, Sheet rolling machine, Woodturning lathe, Circular saw machine, Planner Machine, Jigsaw machine, Pit furnace, Open heart furnace, etc. Different utility jobs are prepared by students in all Labs/shops of the department.

Details of Labs/shops

• • Fitting shops
    This shop is equipped with all types of hand tools, measuring instruments for making different fitting jobs. Filing is a difficult operation for the beginner because it depends on the motion of the hands, without a means of guiding the tool, to move over the work in the correct direction. A lot of practice makes for a better filer.
    Major facilities,tools, instruments available:
    Bench vice 24 Nos, Magnetic ‘’ V” block 2”, Vernier height gauge ( 0- 300mm) Mitutoyo make- (570-312), Vernier height gauge (0- 300mm) Mitutoyo make (514-103), Hand Drilling machine – Hitachi, Hacksaw Frame 300 mm, all types of files, tap & die sets etc.

 

• • Carpentry shops
    This shop is equipped with all types of hand tools, measuring instruments, facilities for making different wooden jobs. Carpentry may be defined as the process of making wooden components. It starts from a marketable form of wood and ends with finished products. Making of joints is one of the important operations in all wood works.
    Major facilities, tools, instruments available:
    Heavy Duty wood Turning lathe (4½’’), Circular Saw Machine Model CS, Inter Planner Heavy Model 55-12, Jig Saw machine 24”, Hand Grinder machine DW801, Digital Vernier Caliper, Bench Grinder etc.

 

• • Welding shops
    This shop is equipped with all types of welding machine, hand tools, measuring instruments, facilities for making different m. s. jobs. Welding is used for making permanent joints.
    Major facilities, tools, instruments available:
    Vice: 12 Nos, Welding transformer, Welding rectifier, Single phase welding machine, Radial drilling machine, Bench grinder, Anvil, Angle Grinder Dewalt Make, Angle Cutter Dewalt Make DW 871, Bench Grinder etc.

 

• • Turning shops
    This shop is equipped with different types of lathe machines, hand tools, measuring instruments, facilities for making different turning jobs.
    Major facilities, tools, instruments available:
    Gedee weiler center lathe model-LZ-300, GEDEE weiler condor lathe, Centre Lathe Machine Model -155, Power hack saw machine, Digital Tachometer (Non- Contact type) 0 to 100000 rpm, Digital Vernier Caliper, Bench Grinder etc.

    This shop is equipped with different types of machinery, hand tools, measuring instruments, facilities for making different jobs.

    Universal Milling Machine, Universal Dividing Head, Centreless Grinder, Shaping Machine, Hydraulically Operated Surface Grinder, Centre Lathe Machine Model -155, Permanent Magnetic chuck (Rectangular (6’’x 8”), Digital Vernier Caliper, Gear Tooth Vernier Caliper Mech;- 1-26 Module,

 

• • Sheet Metal shop –
    This shop is equipped with different types of machineries, hand tools, measuring instruments, facilities for making different sheet metal jobs.

    Universal edge Bending folding machine, Foot (Leg) operated shearing machine, Sheet Rolling Machine, Digital Vernier Caliper, Fly Press, Spot Welding etc.

 

• • Casting and moulding / Black Smithy Shop –
    This shop is equipped with different types of machinery, furnace, hand tools, measuring instruments, and facilities for making different jobs.
    Major facilities, tools, instruments available:
    Pit furnace, Open Heart Furnace, Anvil, Swage block, Leg vice molding boxes, all types of molding sand etc.

    This shop is equipped with Plastic Moulding machine for making different plastic jobs.

    Plastic Moulding machine, die for square job, die for round die etc.
