Dr.Sujay Vikhe Patil is a prominent educationist, neurosurgeon, social leader, and political figure from Ahilyanagar, known for his contributions to healthcare, higher education, and rural development in Maharashtra. He belongs to the influential Vikhe Patil family, which has played a significant role in the cooperative movement and educational development of the state for several decades.

Born on November 24, 1982, Dr. Sujay Vikhe Patil completed his early schooling at The Daly College, one of India’s prestigious residential institutions known for academic excellence and leadership development. From an early age, he displayed keen interest in academics, medicine, and public service.

He pursued his medical education at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where he earned his MBBS degree and developed a strong foundation in clinical sciences. Driven by a passion for surgery and advanced medical care, he completed his M.S. in General Surgery from Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences. He later specialized in neurosurgery by obtaining an M.Ch. degree from D. Y. Patil Medical College, gaining expertise in complex neurological and brain-related surgical procedures.

In June 2011, Dr. Sujay Vikhe Patil assumed responsibility as Executive Director of the medical college and hospital operated under the Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation. His tenure marked a transformative phase for the institution. Recognizing the growing demand for advanced medical education and healthcare services in rural Maharashtra, he initiated several academic reforms and infrastructure development projects. Under his leadership, postgraduate medical courses were introduced in 14 disciplines, significantly enhancing opportunities for specialized medical education. Simultaneously, the MBBS intake capacity was increased from 100 to 150 students, strengthening the institution’s contribution to producing qualified healthcare professionals.

Dr. Patil also emphasized allied healthcare education by introducing postgraduate courses in four physiotherapy disciplines. His vision extended beyond medicine to comprehensive educational growth. In April 2012, after taking charge as Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, he spearheaded modernization efforts across various institutions managed by the organization. State-of-the-art academic and administrative buildings were developed for engineering, pharmacy, and management institutes, creating an improved learning environment equipped with modern facilities and technology.
